The training covered various topics focusing on how WordPress can be used by the social organisations to build and manage their websites.

Vikram Arora mentioned that – WordPress is an open source web publishing tool and it can be used to make self hosted websites and blogs. It is an intuitive platform and anyone with basic knowledge of computers and internet can use it to make websites. There are several plugins and themes which can be used to customize a WordPress based website. We can also use WordPress based websites to collect data related to social work. He showed with some examples how a WordPress site can be setup and content can be hosted on it. Participants followed him and build a mock WordPress website on the local intranet created for training purpose.

These mock websites are now hosted on a training server available on internet where participants can practice WordPress skills. WordPress can help us to minimize costs related to website management and allow us to be in control of our own content.
